The October Show was a great exercise in art community collective organizing and a counterpoint to the Vancouver: Art And Artists exhibition running the same time at the newly opened Vancouver Art Gallery. It also occurred during the turbulent days of the Operation Solidarity struggle against the Socred Provincial Government's firing of 5,000 civil servants and elimination of social services.
