Henri Robideau: Vancouver Solidarity Era 1983 -1984
By Lisa Walker
In the summer of 2011, as part of the City's 125th anniversary celebrations, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation hosted the digital media project 125 Vancouver Stories. The goal of the project was to gather and record neighbourhood stories in communities across the city.
125 Vancouver Stories lead artist film maker Lisa g Nielsen and her team, Brian Lye, Suzanne Ahearne, Ariel Kirk-Gushowaty, Odessa Shuquaya and Lisa Walker, collected stories between May and September 2011 from the city's multicultural population, First Nations and immigrant communities. 125 short videos were created from the shared narratives and released as a DVD as well as a web site.
